Youth hunter award application

Sportsman's Warehouse Junior and Young Hunter awards.

Modeled after the National SCI Young Hunter Award that promotes young men and women that have become hunting role models for their peers. The awards are based on an essay, community service and conservation activities, hunting, fishing and outdoor experiences. The students will be given points based on the hunter’s ability to demonstrate they are a positive role model for the hunting community. Our club will give two awards, both sponsored by Sportsman's Warehouse; the Junior Hunter Award will be for youth between the ages of 10-14 that are beginning to spread their wings and become involved and active young hunters. The Young Hunter Award will be for the more mature youth 15-19 years old. All applicants must be sponsored by a member of the Tennessee Valley Chapter SCI (this can include a parent or grandparent.) Deadline for entry will be May 1st.

Applicant for the Young Hunter Award (ages 15-19) must write a short essay (at least 100 words) on one of he following:
"As a hunter how am I a role model for other youth?" OR "What SCI meansto me."
Applicants for the Junior Hunter Award (ages 10-14) must write at least one paragraph about one of the following:
" What hunting means to me." OR "Why I like to hunt."

Include a minimum of 2 letters of recommendation from , teachers, SCI members (non family), coaches, ministers, school administrators, hunting guide etc. All letters of recommendation may be mailed or e-mailed directly from the person writing the letter or uploaded with this application by the applicant. The letter must contain the applicant's name and Hunter Safety ID number so we can accurately match the letter with the applicant.
