Modeled after the National SCI Young Hunter Award that promotes young men and women that have become hunting role models for their peers. The awards are based on an essay, community service and conservation activities, hunting, fishing and outdoor experiences. The students will be given points based on the hunter’s ability to demonstrate they are a positive role model for the hunting community. Our club will give two awards both sponsored by Sportsman's Warehouse; the first for youth between the ages of 10-14 that are beginning to spread their wings and become involved and active young hunters. The second will be for the more mature youth 15-19 years old. All applicants must be sponsored by a member of the Tennessee Valley Chapter SCI (this can include a parent or grandparent.) Deadline for entry March 1st.

Hunts for Warriors fundraiser a smashing success!
With 60 shooters participating in the TN Valley SCI Second Annual Hunts for Warriors sporting clays shoot, the event was deemed to be a success by everyone. Funds raised from the one day shoot will aid in supporting the two whitetail deer hunts this fall for 40 soldiers hosted by the Chapter in partnership with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA).
Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles at Fort Campbell returning from combat, and who are part of the Healing Outside Army Hospitals (HOAH) will be hosted for two different three day deer hunts by the TN Valley SCI Chapter with all expenses, guides, hunt locations, and a family picnic being held. Last year the event was filmed by Mike Rogers for Expedition Safari TV.
According to Bill Swan, III, Chairman for the events, "This shoot helps significantly by allowing us to add more money in the budget for the hunts, and it allows us to give back to those who have given so much for us and our country!"
